Scholarship For Veterans

What is the Scholarship for Veterans?

Our scholarship enables people who are seeking healing but don’t have the funds to attend a medicine retreat to receive a full scholarship.

This includes extensive preparation and integration support from our team, an ayahuasca immersion retreat under the guidance of the team at “Ronin Jointi”, as well as accommodation before and after the retreat (valued at 3000$ USD)

Please note that flights are not included - contributing at least partially to this experience has shown to ensure the commitment of the scholarship recipients.

Who is eligible for the scholarship?

The scholarship is open to applicants from all over the world who qualify, We only consider fully filled-in applications and review each application individually to determine eligibility. We prioritize applicants who have experienced severe trauma and have already tried conventional treatment options.

Requirements

* Combat veterans with severe PTSD

* At least 18 years old

* Able to travel to Peru with a 3 - 6 months notice

* Passing the intake assessment and being cleared from our team on our intake call

* A strong commitment to your healing - not just at the retreat but also in the preparation and integration

What does the application consist of?

The application process consists of a medical and mental health intake, which is a standard procedure when working with this medicine. In addition to that, you will also have to prove your eligibility for a scholarship.

Please understand that at this time, we can only consider applicants who will be able to receive ongoing support at home (in addition to our integration support).

After your application is submitted, we will get in touch with you to discuss your application and complete the intake (if accepted) or provide you with alternative resources should you not fulfill our requirements.

The intake call and clearing are mandatory to be put on the waitlist.

How do we select applicants?

Our decision-making process depends heavily on your answers to the application. We only work with applicants who will work hard to get the most out of the experience and are committed to their healing - not just in the ceremony, but also in the preparation and integration stages.

Applicants who are able to fund some or all of their journey will be selected sooner.

We encourage applicants to fundraise part or all of their journey through their own donation campaign and provide a template and guideline for this.

Please stay tuned as we continue to work hard to provide this option.

Who we are sending?

We prefer sending applicants in groups of at least two whenever possible. You will have the option to come to the next available retreat as soon as funding is available.

If you know someone who might be interested in our scholarship option, let us know.

Ayahuasca and SSRI’s

If you are currently on SSRI’s or other depression/anxiety medications, you will have to be able to work with a trusted physician to support you as you come off these substances. Your system has to be cleared of all SSRI’s and MAOI’s for at least 6 weeks before the retreat. Working with ayahuasca while on these medications is extremely dangerous and possibly lethal and we will not work with applicants who quit cold turkey or without the assistance of a physician or therapist.

Do not alter your medication in any way in expectation to be selected sooner. If accepted for our scholarship, we will work with your timeline and give you options for your retreat date.

How do we fund scholarships?

Our scholarships are fully funded by donations. One scholarship costs roughly $3000 USD and includes attending a guided week-long ayahuasca immersion retreat with gifted healers from the Shipibo lineage. It is extremely difficult to tell when we will be able to support the next applicant with a full scholarship.

How can I prepare myself?

Independent of being accepted for the scholarship, there are a number of ways in which you can prepare yourself

1. Get a passport - you need a passport valid for at least 6 months to enter Peru

2. Consider creating your own fundraiser to help you collect donations for your trip

What happens if I get selected?

If selected, we provide complete logistical support for your passage to the center. This includes help with flights, entry requirements, and the booking of the stay in Pucallpa before and after the retreat.

We also provide sessions with our integration coach. Our coach will help you prepare before the retreat and provide integration support afterward.

Does PMPP profit from these retreats?

Our full scholarships are completely at cost, so we don’t make money from these retreats. Our maestros still get full pay to support them and their center.

What if I’m not eligible for a scholarship but still need support?

If you are not eligible for a scholarship, but are committed to your healing please reach out to us. We work with a network of trusted healers and practitioners all over the world offering different psychedelic-assisted treatment options. We’re happy to connect you to an alternative whenever possible.

DISCLAIMER: Ayahuasca is not an approved therapy in the US and we do not offer medical advice. Although we strongly believe in our program, we do not guarantee results.  Everyone interacts differently with the substance.  That being said, across the board we have found that the more work individuals are willing to put in before and after the therapy , the more they get out of it.

We are currently not accepting new scholarship applicants.
